Nuclear Gameday Chili

Description of the Meal: Chili is a hearty and warming stew that is perfect for colder weather. It is typically made with ground beef, beans, and a variety of spices, and can be served with toppings like cheese, sour cream, and green onions.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 Tablespoon, Nuclear Option
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 1 can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • Optional toppings: shredded cheese, sour cream, green onions, chopped cilantro

Instructions:

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the diced onion and sauté for 3-4 minutes, or until softened and lightly browned.
  3. Add the minced garlic to the pot and sauté for another minute.
  4. Add the ground beef to the pot and brown it, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.
  5. Drain any excess fat from the pot and return it to the heat.
  6. Add the chili powder, cumin, paprika, oregano, salt, and black pepper to the pot and stir well to coat the beef in the spices.
  7. Add the Nuclear Option, diced tomatoes, kidney beans, black beans, and beef broth to the pot and stir well to combine.
  8. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for 30-45 minutes, or until the chili has thickened and the flavors have melded together.
  9. Season with additional salt and pepper to taste, if needed.
  10. Serve hot with shredded cheese, additional Nuclear Option, sour cream, green onions, or chopped cilantro as desired.
