13 Stars
Founded after Sean returned from a deployment in mid-2018; he had been looking to start a business for some time and dabbled in several startups. Upon returning stateside Sean came to find out that Eli's Father (aka Big Papi Cady) grew and harvested his own spicy delights; ranging from Jalapenos to Ghost Peppers. After a few months of testing and embracing the horrible but also satisfying burns of pepper justice; Sean and Eli found what they had been searching for.
We were ready to get lost in the sauce; but wanting to offer something that was so much more than just a bottle of hot sauce. Here are the three pillars of our brand that we wholeheartedly stand by everyday:
|
|
|
Honor those currently protecting, defending, and supporting our country
|
Support a bad-ass non-profit(s) |
Provide premium hot sauces through superior customer service |
Our Culture
Work Hard, Play Hard. To fulfill the tall order of our mission statement requires a passion that goes beyond clocking in the hours required. Countless night's burning the midnight oil to get our sauces ready to flip the next day is not for everyone. But we are not 'everyone'. On our limited days (more like hours) off we love to spend it with family and friends doing what we love most; enjoy their company over a nice homemade dinner.
Our Brand
Fueled with a passion to provide a DAMN good hot sauce to our customers and give back to those who serve, we created 13 Stars. Our sauce, developed from fresh, locally-sourced ingredients and long hours of burning eyes, provides an explosion of flavor that people with all levels of heat tolerance can appreciate. We want our customers to feel good about what they are buying.
To give our appreciation and gratitude to those who serve, a portion of every bottle purchased will go toward supporting U.S. military service members, first responders and their families.
Sean
|
Chili-head, fitness enthusiast, and astronomy geek; Sean has been around hot sauce and the culinary world most of his life. He has been a chili-head before-birth with his mother sucking down packets of hot sauce when pregnant with him. As an Air Force veteran, Sean started the company after following his passion.

Eli
Beer snob, trumpet player, and a psychopath when it comes to heat tolerance; Eli has grown (and eaten) most of the hottest peppers known to man. Trying out pure capsaicin* is Eli’s idea of “fun”. After separating from the Air Force, Eli looked into possible means to help transition into the civilian world. It came in the form of Sean asking him to help start13 Stars.

*Capsaicin (8-methyl-N-vanillyl-6-nonenamide) is an active component of chili peppers, which are plants belonging to the genus Capsicum. It is an irritant for mammals, including humans, and produces a sensation of burning in any tissue with which it comes into contact. In its pure form it reaches levels of 16 million scoville units.
